Seed
Potatoes
We grow certified seed potatoes that are held to low tolerances of virus and disease resistance. Our seed production is run as a separate division from our table and chipping potatoes, and is therefore a separate farm within Southern Potato. The seed farm has separate employees, equipment, storage and management. This ensures prevention of any contamination and disease spread, resulting in our ability to grow high quality seed varieties that create value for all of our seed customers. Being producers, we understand that the foundation of a profitable potato producer is the seed itself. Every good crop starts with good seed.
All of our seed potatoes are grown under the rules and regulations of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Maintaining good management practices ensures seed that will produce vigorous plants capable of generating high yields and high quality potato crops.
